With over two decades of trailblazing work in film, television, and virtual production, Asa Bailey stands as one of the industry's most dynamic and innovative minds. Best known for seamlessly blending the art of traditional filmmaking with cutting-edge digital technology, Asa has left an indelible mark on global storytelling through his contributions as a Virtual Production Supervisor and Writer Director.

Asa’s career began in the late 90’s advertising world, where his pioneering work in digital publishing transformed creative departments at top agencies across the UK. His talent quickly led him to the prestigious halls of Saatchi & Saatchi New York, where he spearheaded revolutionary online ‘viral’ video campaigns for some of the world’s most recognizable brands.

In 2010, Asa made a successful leap into the world of film and literature. After winning acclaim for his work as a writer on BBC’s Comic Relief, his screenplay The Vampire of Highgate caught the eye of publishers behind Twilight and Vampire Diaries. Tasked with adapting his story into a teen fiction novel, Asa delivered a gripping tale that became an international sensation.

Asa’s directorial vision reached new heights in 2016 when he worked with global action star Jackie Chan on the multimillion-dollar feature The Unbelievable. Following this high-profile project, Asa returned to British drama with CREAM, an award-winning feature that drew critical praise and the endorsement of legendary filmmaker Ken Loach.

With his passion for storytelling intertwined with a deep understanding of technology, Asa founded On-Set Facilities in 2018, a ground-breaking Virtual Production Company that has revolutionised the production landscape. Asa has since become a sought-after advisor to studios around the world, including Netflix, where he spent two years as the Studio Virtual Production Supervisor in Los Angeles.

Among his many recent achievements, Asa has been at the helm of some of the industry's biggest productions, serving as VP Supervisor on Apple TV’s Silo Season II (2024), Hostile Takeover (2024), and Shark Attack 360 (2023). His collaboration with Netflix includes pivotal consulting roles on 100 Years of Solitude, El Eternauta, and El Conde to name a few. Asa’s expertise extends to commercial campaigns, for high-profile projects for global brands like Coca-Cola, BMW, and Shutterstock.

Today, Asa leads BAI-LEY, his Los Angeles and North Wales-based production company that continues to push the boundaries of filmmaking through the integration of Generative AI and virtual production technology. His work combines the best of both worlds: traditional film craftsmanship and futuristic innovation. Asa resides in the serene Eryri National Park in North Wales with his wife Karen.
