Virtual Scouting
Live-VFX provides directors and crew with tools for virtual scouting in pre-production. Using VR and real-time rendered environments, filmmakers scout locations, review costumes, and evaluate production designs before the shoot begins. This approach enables filmmakers to start realizing their vision from day one of pre-production, streamlining your whole production process.
Virtual Art Department
Our generative AI and real-time 3D tools allow us to craft real-time rendered CG assets and locations, providing filmmakers with limitless possibilities for visual storytelling. By harnessing the power of AI and real-time rendering, we can create detailed, photorealistic environments, animated characters and virtual props that evolve dynamically based on creative needs.
Real-Time Compositing
Our system enables instant compositing of live-action footage with computer-generated imagery (CGI) and virtual environments. Using advanced keying technology, we replace green or blue screens in real time, producing near final-quality VFX composites directly from the camera feed. This allows directors and cinematographers to preview and record complex VFX shots live on-set.
LED Stages
For productions that will benefit from using LED volume stages, our Live-VFX system powers these dynamic backdrops to create immersive, dynamic visuals with real-time lighting and reflections. By combining LED technology with real-time VFX and traditional filmmaking methods, we provide maximum flexibility for filmmakers, allowing seamless transitions between physical and virtual sets.
Motion-Camera Tracking
We employ high-precision motion capture and camera tracking systems to capture actors performances, camera movements and VFX lens data. This data is recorded and synchronized on-set with live-action footage and digital elements all in real time, and also recorded in-system for post production editorial and post VFX.
8K Real-Time Rendering
Using industry-leading rendering engines like Unreal Engine, we generate photorealistic VR worlds, backgrounds, characters, locations and effects, at high frame rates. Our rendering tools simulate physically accurate lighting and reflections, ensuring that digital elements integrate naturally with real sets and live-action performances.
AR Graphics
Our system extends physical sets with digital graphics and environments, virtual props, and animated creatures. Directors, actors, and crew can see and interact with these virtual elements live, enhancing creative decision-making and performance accuracy. This integration eliminates guesswork and streamlines the entire production process.
Dynamic Lighting
Live-VFX uses image-based lighting (IBL) and HDRI on-set coloring techniques to match on-set lighting with digital sets and virtual elements in real time. By dynamically adjusting, color, shadows, highlights, and reflections, we achieve a seamless blend of physical and virtual components, ensuring every shot feels cohesive and natural.
Camera Calibration
Live-VFX leverages advanced color technology to calibrate in-engine cameras with live-action on-set cameras, ensuring consistent color fidelity across both real and virtual elements. Adhering to industry-standard color profiles, our system guarantees that both physical and digital cameras "see" the same colors.
Post Production & VFX
The BAI-LEY Live-VFX system integrates seamlessly into modern post production pipelines, capturing and transmitting all (RAW) footage, camera tracking data, metadata, and real-time composites to post-production VFX and editorial teams. Our cloud based post production solution scales to cater for productions of any size.
